An Angry Boy

An angry boy by Chantal Yzermans 2008

An Angry Boy by Chantal Yzermans premiered in Amperdans Antwerpen 2007 in Monty Theater with Nono Pessoa photo by Ronald Stoops

The performance is a contemporary portrait inspired by Beethoven’s Hammerklavier Sonata, Opus 106, the score of which was created by the composer at the end of his life. This sonata was born at the turning point between Classicism and Romanticism.

So it is with AN ANGRY BOY / Act Two, unfolding into two conflictual registers. And so do the choreographer and the young fashion designer find themselves as creators in 2008, navigating a new vacuum: on the threshold of what is established and what has yet to become.
